Seagate Firmware Fix Does Not Work On All Hard Drives

By now most of you have heard that Seagate has issues with several of their newer Barracuda models. They released a firmware fix for the problem, but what they didn’t tell you is, the firmware fix only works if the hard drive is seen by the BIOS. We have been getting a lot of calls with people that have Seagate hard drive and they can’t get the fix to work. The problem is, you can’t apply the fix unless the hard drive is seen by Windows or depending upon your motherboard, the Basic Input Output System.
Now all hard drives fail and these disks from Seagate are no worse than any other drive, they just ran into some bad luck in manufacturing. i bought 2 seagate barracuda external 7200 from dell ,both stopped working,lost all my backup info,and seagate could not care less,fixes don`t work,stay away from their stinking drives.i bought these drives afew months ago &this company knew ,that their drives were failing,and they kept on selling them.let others know so they do not buy them. thank s max
