i’ve got a computer that belongs to a friend who has several thousand pictures on a failed drive. The drive is a Barracuda 7200.9. i purchased another matching drive and replaced the platters. the drive is spinning up but that is all. it is running very fast and at a constant rate. it is not making any weird noise at all, just spinning. it is not seen in the bios. any chance of recovery from the platters. i did not change the drive in a clean room but did it very quickly. any ideas?

My problem is how to recover the files on defective hard disk if you can help me how much is the cost?
Cause: physical problem one of the IC in the pcb board was burned. i tried to replace the board with identical specs but still does not work.

After Windows would not load, I spent an ENTIRE DAY following direction of the manufacturer support agent. BAD MOVE, he basically had me start an OS reinstall that began to format my hard drive! I worked several recovery programs but after failing at getting them to get my data back I finally called a PRO, within no time, JACQUI had me up and running!!!
