		<description>No, the model number does not need to be the same, however, the RAID card will use the smallest drive when configuring the array.  

For example, if you have 3 160 GB drives, and one 120 GB drive, the RAID will use the 120 GB drive as the base, so you will lose the end of the other three 160 GB drives; 40 GB per drive.</description>
